Cecile Fareen Cartwright's Obituary
Cartwright, Cecile, Fareen of Cedar Hill, Texas died October 15, 2010. She was born in Dallas, Texas on December 31, 1921 to Beulah King and Lester Watson. She married her childhood sweetheart, Dr. O. V. Cartwright, on April 10, 1939. They were happily married for 67 years until his death in 2006. She graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas and modeled as a young woman in the late 1930s. After marrying O. V. in 1939, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and then back to Dallas while O. V. V served in World War II. In 1950, she and O. V. moved to Grand Prairie, Texas to set up his dentistry practice, where she was the office manager for more than 50 years. Cecile and O. V. traveled all over the world including eastern and western Europe, the USSR, North Africa, and Asia. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a founding member of the Grand Prairie Women’s Club. Cecile is survived by two sons, Don Cartwright and his wife, Jan, Dr. Chris Cartwright and his wife, Nancy; four grandchildren, Brandie Doughtie, Jason Cartwright, Katy Simpson, and Kacey Scott; and two great- grandchildren, Thomas and Connor Doughtie.
