Love you Grandma 💜
As a young newlywed at Spring Valley Baptist Church in 1980, I remember being impressed with Celeste's dedication to her children, specifically to her parenting. Tim and I were impressed with the wonderful role models she and Harley presented not only to their children, but to young married couples like the two of us. Tim worked with Kent, their oldest son, in Royal Ambassadors and was struck by his heart for the Lord, his passion for ministry and his intelligence. We eventually served as missionaries in Russia and upon returning to the States, we served with NAMB in Syracuse, New York. During one of our flights, we happened upon Harley in the airport. We hadn't seen each other in at least 20 years, and the chance meeting surprised all three of us. Harley felt it wasn't by chance, as he was very worried about Celeste. She was in very ill health, so the three of us pulled aside in this large airport and prayed for her healing. It was another indication of how the strong hand of God was upon this family. We will be forever grateful to God for allowing us the privilege of knowing Harley and Celeste. Tim and Elise Bissell, Buffalo, New York
We are sad to hear of the passing of Celeste, but we know she is at home, with the Lord and with her beloved Harley. We were blessed to know her and witness her love for the Lord and for the children in the church. She always asked about our grandson, Will, whenever we saw her. May she rest in peace and safety in the arms of her Savior.
with love, Robin & Karen Rose
