Celestine Brown, age 88, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born on February 24, 1930 to parents Lesley Herring and Willie Mae Pannell in New Albany, Mississippi. Celestine married Jessie D. Brown in September 1946 in Hernando, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family. Celestine’s passion was cooking for her family. She was knonw for her chicken and dumplings, banana pudding, and homemade biscuiteCelestine is proceeded in death by her husband, Jessie Brown; son, Gary Brown; and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kay Burton, her son, David Brown and wife Reyna Brown, daughter-in-law Ellen Brown (wife of Gary Brown), Seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.The family requests that visiting hours for Celestine be observed on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 12:30 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243.
