Charleene Hodges' Obituary
HODGES, CHARLEENE (JONES) Born in Dallas on Valentine’s Day 1926 and married to her childhood sweetheart for 59 years. Charleene was fiercely independent and a competent professional woman having worked for Sears as her only employer for over 40 years. She and her love spent many years living and playing at Lake Bob Sandlin where she was the instigator of fun, fishing trips, cards games, and dominos. Her sense of humor was enjoyed by all who came in contact with her. Preceded in death by her love, Murrell Hodges; her black labs, Sam and Sarah; her parents, Martha Manning and Worley Jones; her sisters, Sally Seitz and Jo Von Tucker. Survived by son, Hugh Hodges and grandson, Josh Rush; daughter, Liz Hodges and life partner, Hannah Fields, all of Dallas; siblings Worley Jones, CA, Sonja Callicott, Southlake, Neil Jones, TN. Our matriarch is gone. Rest in peace sweet mother and friend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tarahumara Mission, Alpartado #11, Creel, Chih 33200 Mexico (Luis G. Verplancken, S.J.), Wilshire Baptist Church or a charity of your choice. Services will be held at 3:00PM, Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00PM, Wednesday at Restland Funeral Home.
