Charlene Elaine Martin's Obituary
Charlene Elaine Martin passed away May 21, 2021, at her home in Dallas. She was born April 20, 1947, to Emma Lee (Bunny) and C. Gordon Martin. Charlene grew up in Dallas and attended Walnut Hill Elementary, Cary Junior High, Thomas Jefferson High School and Lake Highlands High School.
Charlene worked for many years at The Grape restaurant. She was fortunate to be able to travel extensively and lived in several states, including Mississippi, Minnesota, Kentucky and California, as well as Texas. She also visited England, Japan, Spain and Australia.
She had a huge heart for animals and was never without a dog by her side. She cared for feral cats, wildlife and birds. Charlene loved her family, and she loved her Lord. Her faith in God was great, and her loved ones are comforted knowing she is finally pain-free and at home with Jesus Christ.
Charlene is survived by her loving son, John Scott Carpenter; her brother, John G. Martin; cousins Jonnie England and Glynn Ann Ruggeri; and her devoted dog, Freedy.
A memorial service will take place Friday, May 28, at 2 p.m. at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel in Dallas. The service will be livestreamed and available for viewing for 30 days following at http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/54666/hash:E13EB8CFA56337F2.
