Charles Ashley's Obituary
ASHLEY, CHARLES EDWARD, age 84 was born December 19, 1927 and passed away peacefully on July 17, 2012 both in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents S. (Sam) M. and Alice Ashley. Charles was the youngest of two. He and his wife Gloria wed on October 12, 1955 and had four children. He graduated from Southern Methodist University earning his degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the Navy during the Korean war and was awarded the Navy Occupation Service Ribbon and the Korean Service Ribbon. He was a lifelong resident of Dallas, TX. for all 84 years. Charles loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, Dallas, TX. He enjoyed his family, fishing, model airplanes and kite building and last but not least his coffee and biscuits. Charles will be remembered by his loving wife Gloria of 54 years and their children; daughters, Andrea Hearon and husband Mark Sr., Waverly McCarthy and husband Bob, Sharon Rowe and husband Keith and son, Alan Ashley; Grandchildren, Mark Hearon Jr. and wife Katelyn, Kyndall Hearon and Mallory McCarthy. “You may be gone, but you will not be forgotten!” Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday July 20, 2012 with full military honors at Restland Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday July 19, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home.
