Charles Ray Baker's Obituary
Charles Ray Baker, 88, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. He was born on June 28, 1928 in Mexia, Texas and raised near Kilgore, Texas. He has lived in Dallas since 1966. Charles is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Baker; siblings Kenny Baker, Jerry Baker, and Linda Waggoner; daughter, Jane Zapotocky, son Steve Baker, grandchildren Lee Baker, Adam Zapotocky, Amanda Baker, Robin Rodriguez, and other loving relatives. Graduating from Sabine High School, Charles served in the United States Army Air Corps at the end of World War II and the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Mobile Oil for two years, followed by a full career at Sun Oil, retiring in 1986. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, 75243 from 5:00–7.00 P.M. on Saturday, July 9, followed by a memorial service on Sunday, July 10, at 2:30 P.M. at Lakeside Baptist Church, 9150 Garland Road, Dallas, 75218. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Lakeside Baptist Church, Charles’ church home for fifty years. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
