Charles Robert (Bob) Johnston's Obituary
Charles Robert (Bob) Johnston, 83, of Richardson, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in Plano, Texas. He was born on August 27, 1935 to Julian S. and Ethel Johnston in Marshall, Texas. Bob married Connie Soniat on October 31, 1952 in Zaragoza, Mexico. He was the owner of Mustang Dry Cleaners for 43 1/2 years and worked with Quality Parts Warehouse for 17 years. Bob was a member of Masonic Lodge #1214 in Richardson, Texas and received his 50 year pin, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32 degree of Dallas, Texas; Hella Temple of Dallas, Texas. He was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Richardson in the early 60’s, Richardson Reserve Police Department thru the late 60’s, Garland Citizens Police Academy Class of 19, and a member and board member of the Alumni Association.Bob is survived by his wife, Connie Johnston of Richardson, Texas; daughters, Durae Miller of Midlothian, Texas and Cheryl Bray and husband Joe of Garland, Texas; and nieces, Susan Hantschell, Terry Weimers, Linda Miller, Judy Ames and Vickie Ward; brother, Bud Johnston; sister-in-law, Durae Willard; grandchildren, Sean Miller, Sheriden Miller, Stephanie Miller, Angela and Ramin Afshar, and Jaclyn Bray; and great grandchildren, Carter Allsup, Ethan Allsup, Gage Allsup, Dylan Afshar, Hannah Afshar, and Danielle Barber. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Ethel Johnston; brother-in-law, Allen Willard; sister-in-law, Nancy Johnston; niece, Debbie Fenter; and granddaughter, Pamela Bray.The family requests that visiting hours for Bob Johnston be observed on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service for Mr. Johnston will be on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners’ Hospitals and Shriners’ Childrens’ Hospital.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
