Charles Mark Britton's Obituary
BRITTON, CHARLES MARK Mark’s story in his own words: “Born Charles Mark Britton in Corpus Christi, Texas. Died in Dallas, Texas, April 10, 2011. As many people want to know how old you are, I will tell you 7/7/40 and you do the math. I died from lung cancer and I never smoked, no family history, or excess smoke exposure. Attended Roy Miller High School, and the best times were playing in a very good band with many talented friends. Graduated from the University of Texas in 1963 with a BBA in Marketing. Was a member of Acacia fraternity and made many life-long friends. As a member of ROTC, I was commissioned a 2nd. Lieutenant and served two years in the Army in the Military Police. Nancy and I were married in 1963, and we had a long and rewarding married life. I worked for Susan Crane Inc. in Dallas for 22 years and had 9 positions. During this time I started making two trips a year to the Pacific Rim covering 8 countries. My final career stop was with Mary Kay, Inc. where I held 5 positions in 11 years. My trips to the Pacific Rim continued for a total of 36. In retirement, Nancy and I continued to travel to over 35 additional countries. So much fun and education from these trips. We also enjoyed our lake house for over 25 years. Nothing like being on the water and enjoying good friends. One of the continuing bright spots during my life was the friendship of seven Boston Terriers. Such energy, loyalty and devotion. There will be a small graveside gathering to bring closure to this life journey. In lieu of flowers please consider two donations: North Dallas Food Bank, 4500 S. Cockrell Hill Road, Dallas, Texas 75236 or consider a donation and/or adoption at Operation Kindness, 3201 Earhart Drive, Carrollton, Texas 75006. All these dogs want is someone to love their whole life. Thanks to Nancy, friends, neighbors and co-workers, and of course, the Bostons for making my life so special.” Mark Dear Mark, You are greatly loved and will be hugely missed. Love, Nancy, Jake, and your many friends.
