Charles Edward Brooks' Obituary
Charles was a graduate of Forest Avenue High School and SMU. He receive a Bachelor of Science in Education. Charles was a dedicated school teacher for 37 years. He was also a life long member of the Lake Highlands Baptist Church. He flew TBM Avengers off of the USS Enterprise during World War II. He was awarded the distinguished flying cross. He was preceded in death by parents; sister, Bit Hurley; and brother, George Brooks. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Marjorie Brooks; son, Dale Brooks and spouse Donna; 3 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
