Charles Robert Busbee's Obituary
BUSBEE, CHARLES Born March 1, 1922 died September 8 2010. Survived by wife of 68 years Marian, daughters Brook (Alexander) & Lisa. A native Dallasite, he graduated from Sunset high school in 1939 and served proudly in WWII as a first lieutenant in the U. S. Army Air Corps. Shot down over Germany he survived ten months in a German prisoner of war camp. Upon his return he graduated from SMU. Charlie never met a stranger, and leaves behind many friends who will miss his acerbic wit. Member of Bonehead Club of Dallas, North Texas Chapter Eighth Airforce Group, Retreads Motorcycle Group, American Ex-Prisoners of War, North Texas Norton Owners Association, Disabled American Veterans, Happy Warriors, 398th Bomb Group (H) Memorial Assn., American Theatre Organ Society, International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers, Texas Motorcycle Riders Association, Friday Night Spinners Group, Stoneleigh Society. A man who never lost his sense of wonder or interest in the world, he loved to navigate the Internet and keep in touch with his friends all over the country.
