He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in England. For about thirteen years he was employed with the Ingersoll-Rand Company. In 1956 he went to work with the ARO Tool Corporation as a salesman retiring in 1981. With his drive and personality, he was the consummate salesman. “Cwiffa,” was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (called “Baw Baw” and “Granddad”), father-in-law, son, brother and friend. He was a faithful member of First Covenant Church of Irving, Texas since 1952. He served as trustee for ten years. He studied the Bible ardently and read avidly. He truly loved the Lord with all his heart. He was an example for all of us in his walk with God. Clif also liked sports a great deal with his favorite being golf. He delighted in playing different golf courses and was always trying to improve his game. For the majority of his life he was also very nutritionally minded. Many were influenced by his focus on eating healthy with concentration on fruits and vegetables. He knew a wealth of information on vitamins, minerals and herbs. His lifestyle certainly contributed to his longevity. Preceding him in death are his dedicated wife of forty-six years, Ruth O., and daughter, Susan Michele. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patsy, of twenty-two years, and his loving daughter, Cathy Martin and husband Hardy. He had two granddaughters, Julie Martin and Jill Vaughn and one grandson, Kevin Faulkner. He also had two step-grandchildren, Brad and Chad Martin, as well as three step-daughters, Deb Donaldson, Leanne Taylor, and Linda McNeill. He had four great-grandchildren, Whitney, Kyle, Devyn and Ava. A generous, gracious and funny man, his laughter will be missed.
