Charles Thomas Davis' Obituary
Born September 15, 1928 in Newton, Iowa and went to be with his Lord on January 5, 2011. Tom moved from Newton to Ft. Worth, TX with his family in 1944. He graduated from Paschal High School in January 1946. He attended TCU and then went to UT in Austin the fall of 1947. He was a graduate of UT in June 1950. He married the love of his life Jean Stallings on June 18, 1949. They have been happily married for 61 years. After graduation, Tom went to work for the Vernon Company in the promotional advertising business where he stayed until 1963 when he and his brother started DACO. He was very active in the Specialty Advertising Association International. He received his CAS in 1968 and then his graduate of management in 1972. He was also on the Board of Directors of this association from 1980 until 1982. In 1989 DACO and Harvey Advertising merged and he became Vice Chairman of the Board until his death. Tom decided to take up golf late in life and had been a member of Northwood Country Club where he loved playing with his early Saturday morning golf group. He is survived by his wife Jean of 61 years, son Chuck Davis and wife Pam, daughter DeAnn Turner and husband Tom, and two grandsons Chuck and Jack Davis. Tom was the sweetest, kindest, and most generous man, and has gone to be with his Lord. A memorial service will be held Monday January 10, 2011 at 2PM at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, with a reception following the service. The Rev. Bill Lamberth will be officiating.
