Charles "Pete" Donald Peterson Jr.'s Obituary
Pete was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on May 18, 1933 to Charles D. Peterson, Sr. and Leona Pauley Peterson. He graduated in 1952 from Highland Park High School, where he met his wife Bonnie. He attended Iowa State where he was a Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He finished his degree in Industrial Engineering from Southern Methodist University in 1957. They married December 22, 1956 at Perkins Chapel at SMU. Pete was an entrepreneur, inventor, and craftsman. He was in the natural gas industry for over 55 years. He was a pioneer and instrumental in the development and promotion of regulators and measuring devices in the natural gas industry. Pete wanted to leave you all with this message, “Count your blessings, say your prayers, God will answer, you can do anything, thank God for your relationship with Him and you will find harmony.” He will be watching over his family as a guardian angel. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Byrdette “Bonnie” McLean Peterson. Daughters: Cynthia Dianne Peterson Longueville and her husband James “Bud” P. Longueville; Deborah Suzanne Peterson Lipscomb and grandchildren Amanda Mae Lipscomb and John David Lipscomb, III; Laura Anne Peterson Holland and husband John A. Holland, grandchildren Amy Elizabeth Holland and David Michael Holland. Son: Benjamin Pauley Peterson and wife Caroline Akers Peterson. Sister: Lola Jean Peterson Sanford and her husband Robert “Bob” F. Sanford. Brother-in-Law: William “Sandy” Samuel McLean and his wife Dianne McLean. Plus many nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nephews and nieces. A casual graveside service for family members and close friends will be held on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 at Restland Memorial Park at 10:00am. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, Pete would like you to please plant a tree in his memory or donate to the Audubon Society at Audubon.org and adopt a bird.
