Charles Dozier's Obituary
On Tuesday, the 20th of October, Charles (“Charlie”) Dozier passed away while surrounded by family at UTMB Health Center, 301 University Blvd., Galveston, TX 77555. He was 66 years old.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cathy; daughters Sarah and Mary Dozier; and son-in-laws, Alexander Brandt and Ben Porter. He is also survived by mother, Jean Dozier; sisters and their families, Allyson Paxton and Barbara Powell. Charlie is preceded in death by his father, William Dozier.
Born on May 2nd, 1954 in Westchester, PA, Charlie’s family relocated to Dallas at an early age, and he would spend all of his life calling Dallas home. An Eagle Scout, Charlie attended Bryan Adams High School in East Dallas before graduating in 1972. He enrolled at Texas Christian University where he obtained his B.B.A. in 1976. After spending a summer abroad, which would whet his appetite for worldwide travel, he returned to Dallas to join his family business, Security Center of Texas. As with most of his pursuits, Charlie excelled at this, where he obtained nine patents in the areas of security.
Outside of his work, Charlie spent much of his free time traveling throughout the U.S. and overseas with his family. He loved fly fishing, sailboat racing, story and joke telling, knowledge gathering, reading, and, most of all, sharing time with his dear friends and family. He was a devout and contributing member of Northway Christian Church. We will all miss his guileless, gentle and generous spirit.
He will be buried during a private ceremony at Restland Memorial Park, 9220 Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be planned for the future.
