Charles Herbert Exum's Obituary
Charles Herbert Exum, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Plano, Texas. He was born October 6, 1937, in Brookston, Texas, to Morris and Amy Exum.
Mr. Exum was a devoted husband to his wife, Nelda “Ruth,” who preceded him in death in January 2025. They had a son who was born in 1964 and who died the same year.
He was an electronic engineer specializing in radio operations and devoted over thirty-six years to Rockwell Collins, retiring in January 1999. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1960.
In retirement, Mr. Exum enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and the craft of building and repairing objects in his home and garage. He also took pleasure in helping his neighbors.
Mr. Exum leaves behind the memory of a long marriage of sixty-three years. A son, born in 1964 and who predeceased him, is remembered in the family legacy.
A visitation and Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas, in the Wildwood Chapel, followed by the graveside service.
