Charles Edward French's Obituary
Charles Edward French, 98 of Dallas, Texas passed away on August 31, 2017, in Dallas, Texas. He was born to Guy French and Amanda French in Gainesville, Texas on March 2, 1919. He married Clarice Douglas on June 29, 1947, in Denton, Texas. He was a retired Butcher and meat market manager for Safeway. He was a Masonic Lodge Member # 210 located in Gainesville, Texas. Also, Charles served in the United States Army from February 5, 1942 through October 9, 1945.Charles is survived by his loving wife, Clarice French; nephews, Edward French of Arlington, Texas, Stephen French of Pottsboro, Texas, Jack Frost of Gainesville, Texas, Bill Frost of Justin, Texas Dan Frost of Sanger, Texas and Paul Faulkner of Yorktown, Texas; niece, Susie Reed of Gainesville, Texas; sister, Polly Faulkner of Cuero, Texas. He is preceded in death by his brother, Richard E. French; sister, Mary Belle Frost and his parents Guy and Amanda French, also his nephew Richard French, Jr.He was a deacon at Royal Haven Baptist Church, a master mason for seventy years and he was a World War II veteran serving in North Africa and in Italy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dallas Baptist University in memory of Ronnie Briscoe.The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park. A service to celebrate Charles’s life will follow starting at 10:00 AM in the Wildwood Chapel followed by interment in the Court of Hope at Restland Memorial Park.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
