Charles Wilburn Hartley's Obituary
Hartley, Charles Wilburn was born on July 25, 1932 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Wilburn Francis and Helen Marie Hartley. He passed away on January 06, 2014 in Sunnyvale, Texas at the age of 81 after a long illness. “Papaw” was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Pat; daughter, Karen Risinger and husband, Charles; son, David Hartley and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Shanya Matthews and husband, James, Brian Risinger and wife, Cristie, Melissa Hartley and Jeremy Taylor, Laura Smith and husband, Tyler; great-grandchildren, Josef, Samantha and Sarah Matthews, Daleton and Ethon Risinger, Ally Hartley and Ryker Smith; sister, Frances Parmer, and a number of nieces and nephews. Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge along with being a member of the Hella Shriners. He loved traveling the United States, boating, water skiing and camping. Charles retired from Hormel Meat Company after 35 years as a truck driver and mechanical maintenance technician. He then worked a few years at Country Glass with his “kids” before moving with Pat to enjoy both of their retirements at Cedar Creek Lake. Services will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2013 at Restland Abbey Chapel, with visitation one hour prior. Honored pallbearers will be David Hartley, Charles Risinger Jr., Brian Risinger, James Matthews, Tyler Smith, and Jeremy Taylor.
