Charles Vaughn Huffstutler's Obituary
Huffstutler, Charles Vaughn passed away Sunday night, July 27, 2014, at Richardson Methodist Hospital in Richardson, Texas, after a short but intense battle with lung cancer. He was 70 years old. Chuck, as he was known by friends and family, owned a school furniture and equipment business in Richardson for more than 20 years. His company, J & S Equipment, provided libraries, science laboratories and other installations to most schools in Richardson ISD, Denton ISD and Plano ISD, and across the state of Texas. He graduated from North Texas State University in 1965 after high school in Belton and Port Lavaca, Texas. As a teen he was active in Boy Scouts of America and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Chuck had resided in Richardson since 1974, and also enjoyed a weekend home on Lake Holbrook near Mineola, Texas. Chuck is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Victoria (Chancellor) Huffstutler; two daughters, Kimberly C. Huffstutler of San Antonio, Texas, and April L. Renno of Richardson; two granddaughters, Lillian (Lilly) and Roxie Renno; grandson Daniel V. Renno; and his son-in-law, Dale W. Renno. Other surviving family members include his aunt, Bonnie Arthur, of Denton, and cousins Joe B. Huffstutler of Dallas, David Arthur of Denton, Sherry White of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, and various Arthur and Huffstutler relatives. He was also loved by nieces Bek Garrett and Laura Maddrill of Indianapolis, Indiana, and nephews John Garrett and John Turner, of Louisville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian V. (Arthur) Huffstutler and his father, Dr. E. V. Huffstutler, formerly of Denton, Texas. A memorial service will be in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243, on Saturday, August 2nd, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Chuck’s favorite organizations, World Wildlife Fund, www.worldwildlife.org, or Operation Kindness, www.operationkindness.org an animal rescue group in Carrollton, Texas, from which he adopted his beloved dog Chloe.
