Hunnicutt, Charles Roy's Obituary
Charles Roy Hunnicutt Jr. was born in Wichita Falls and lived all over Texas including Laredo, Nacogdoches, and Sinton where he went to high school. He graduated from Texas A&I with a B.S. in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, and Louisana Polytechnic Institute with a M.S. in Petroleum Engineering.
During his career as a reservoir simulation engineer, he worked at Sun Oil Company and then DeGolyer and MacNaughton from 1973 until he retired. He modeled fields all over the world, including Algeria, the Danish North Sea, the Northwest Shelf of Australia, Venezuela, Colombia, and China.
He met his wife Alice Merle Hunnicutt at Park Cities Baptist Church and they were married in Ellis Chapel on February 14, 1974. A little over a year later they had their only daughter Holly Lee Hunnicutt.
Charles was a great lover of nature and travel and visited every continent except Asia and Antartica. He loved travelling with his family. He was a lifelong hunter and was well-known for his venison chili recipe and would take pots to family, friends, work, church, and many other potlucks.
He is predeceased by his parents Charles Roy Hunnicutt Sr. and Verda Lee Peel Hunnicutt, and his little beloved brother Jimmy Hunnicutt who died in childhood. He is survived by his daughter Holly who currently lives in Austin.
