Charles Johnson's Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Floyd Johnson Born on February 3, 1934 to Allen Byrd and Edith Ellen (née Chapman) Johnson in Tulsa, OK, and went to be with his Lord Jesus on March 17, 2016 in Irving, TX. Chuck loved the Lord who he came to know while he was in the military. In recent years, he attended Faith Church in Sherman and Covenant Church in Carrollton. Charles is survived by brother Allen B. Johnson, Jr., sister Billie Bob Hardy; sons Glenn and Gregory; daughter Stacy; granddaughter Brittni Finch; grandson Quesaun Finch and his fiancé Courtney Lewis; granddaughter Kyndall Heichlinger and her husband Kyle; and great granddaughters Aubrey, Avielle, and Ainsley. Charles graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas in 1952 and then served 3 years in the United States Marine Corp from September 1953 until September 1956. Charles received his Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in Waco, TX in 1961, and attended graduate school from 1961 to 1963. He had a great passion for geology and loved nature, especially the mountains of Colorado. In addition to his work as a Petroleum Geologist he also spent years owning a mountain real-estate agency in Colorado, worked with his brother’s elevator company, Trojan Elevator, building and servicing elevators of U.S Government buildings in Cuba, Hong Kong, Moscow, El Salvador and Kennedy Space Center. Chuck also worked for a sub-contractor of the U.S. State Department where he traveled to U.S. Embassies and Consulates of 57 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. He loved to fly his Bellenca Super Viking in his younger years. He also loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Family will receive friends on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home main building. Services will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 9:30 AM in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
