Charles Henry Moore's Obituary
73, passed away on December 14, 2008, with Betty, his wife of 52 years at his side. Services will be held Wesnesday, December 17, 2008 at 10:00AM, at the First Baptist Church of Richardson, 1001 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080, where he was a long time member, with Pastor Gerald Ware officiating. Charles was born December 29, 1934 in Texarkana to Rosa Lee Moore and James C. Moore. He graduated from Texas High in Texarkana. During high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society, and an all-state football player. Charles attended Texas A&M on a football scholarship and graduated from Lamar Tech University in 1959. Straight out of school, Charles began a 32 year career at Texas Instruments. During his time at Texas Instruments, he was the mechanical engineer on the first prototype of the laser guided bomb and numerous other projects in the Government Products Research & Development Department. After Texas Instruments, he was employed at Electrospace/ Raytheon for 5 years. Charles was an avid golfer and traveled with his wife around the world. After retirement, he served on the Collin County Grand Jury. He also worked part-time at Stone Bridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney, TX. He was also an active member of the Golden Airs Choir at First Baptist Church Richardson. Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, Michael R. Moore, daughter-in-law Jenee; grandchildren, Coleman and McCall Moore of Chatham, NJ, his sister Sarah Brooks of Clarksville, TN. Charles is also preceded in death by his son, Steven James Moore and his brothers James C. Moore and William T. Moore. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Richardson.
