Charles Edwin Moore's Obituary
Charles Edwin Moore, 74, of Allen, TX passed away peacefully on December 14, 2020. Charles was born on October 6, 1946 to Dr. Victor and Fatima Moore in Dallas, TX. He served as an artillery specialist in the US Army from 1967-1970 and was a Vietnam veteran, being stationed both in Korea and Vietnam.
He met Lynda Stroud in Pecos, TX and they married on April 10, 1971 in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in the Centennial class of 1976 with a degree in Geology. He remained a loyal Aggie fan throughout his life.
Charles had a vast career in several fields including oil exploration, medical waste disposal, and finally as the warehouse manager for DXP. He was an active servant in the children’s ministry at First Baptist Church of McKinney where he was a member for 15 years. He was very proud of his Scots-Irish heritage and enjoyed wearing his kilt to the annual Irish Festival in Dallas every year.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lynda Moore and their children: Cheryl Moore-Woods of McKinney, Texas, Chris Moore of Allen, TX, and Cathleen Castellaw of Fort Mill, SC. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson and a sister, Peggy McKay of Allen, TX.
The family would like to thank their many friends and family who have supported them throughout Charles’ illness and would especially like to thank Anchor of Hope Hospice for their loving care in his final days.
