Dr. Charles William Nichol's Obituary
Dr. Charles William Nichol passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 23rd, 2018 with his beloved wife by his side. “Chocky” was a kind-hearted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to a family that adored him more than words can say. He was respected and loved by friends, colleagues and everyone that had a chance to meet him. Chocky was born on October 25th, 1926 in Abilene, TX. He was a graduate of Highland Park High School and worked as a lifeguard at the Highland Park Swimming Pool where he met the love of his life, Patricia McClusky. They were blessed to spend the next 70 years together. After his service in the Navy during WWII, Chocky went to Southern Methodist University, Baylor College of Dentistry, and then graduated with a Masters in Orthodontia from St. Louis University. After running his private practice and caring for hundreds of patients in the Lake Highlands area, he voluntarily taught at Baylor College of Dentistry. Chocky loved diving, hunting and going to Cancun, Mexico where he and Pat celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and later renewed their vows for their 50th wedding anniversary. Although diving and hunting are perceived as hobbies to most, for Chocky they were a way of life and gave him a beautiful way to connect with his children and later his grandchildren.
