Charles Robert Price Jr.'s Obituary
Charles Robert (Bob) Price Jr. was born in Columbus, Georgia on May 29, 1922. The second of four children born to Charles and Mamie Price. Charles departed this life on September 16, 2021, three months before his and Wanda's 50th wedding anniversary.
During the Great Depression, the family moved to Dallas, Texas to find work. While a young boy, Bob worked to help his family. He made deliveries for the pharmacy. He collected produce crates and made bird houses and what not shelves to sell. He built an insulated box on his wagon, he made a financial agreement with the drug store owner to sell ice cream bars. When his profits declined, he discovered his little brother sitting in the wagon eating bars of ice cream. His work ethic and honesty served him well during his long life.
He attended Forest Avenue High School from 1942-1946 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a flight engineer. After the war, he attended school and became an electrician in IBEW Local 59 until his retirement from Fisk Electric in 1987. After retirement, he and Wanda traveled in their RV, enjoyed cruising, and spending time on their East Texas property where he loved driving his old Ford tractor. Until this past year, he followed a daily exercise regimen.
He was a member of James Ladd Burgess Masonic Lodge and The Scottish Rite. Bob and Wanda were active members of Audubon Park Baptist Church.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Alice, Len, and Evelyn. He is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughters, Sheila, Wanda, and Dana: granddaughter April; grandsons Josh, Price, and Hunter; great granddaughters Lauren and Rachel, and great grandson Levi as well as nieces and nephews.
As a boy, he came to know Jesus as his personal Savior. We miss him greatly but rejoice in knowing we will be together again one day.
