Charles Lewis Sever's Obituary
Charles Lewis Sever went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. He was born in Wilson, Oklahoma May 25, 1925 to Lewis and Leova Sever. Charles spent his childhood and school days in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He served his country in the US Navy as a Seabee-Special in the Construction Battalion during World War II before attending college. Charles met the love of his life Norma Jean in a local drugstore where they were introduced by a mutual friend. They were married August 13, 1949. Charles had the privilege of attending the University of Oklahoma where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He has continued to be a lifelong Sooners fan and supporter. Charles first professional position was with Schlumberger in Houma Louisiana working predominately in the Gulf of Mexico serving as an electric well logging engineer. Charles and Jean later made their way to Texas after being transferred by Sun Oil Company to Houston from Tulsa in 1959. He continued to work for Sun Company ultimately transferring to Dallas in 1978 and served as Chief Log Analyst until his retirement. Charles enjoyed woodworking, attending antique auctions and he was an avid football fan. He was an active member of the Campbell Road Church of Christ in Garland. He is preceded in death by his parents and will be missed by his beloved wife Norma Jean Sever, his daughters Nancy Gray and Amy Wright, son in laws Buddy Gray and Larry Wright, his brother Mel Sever and his sister Eva Jo Sever. A Memorial service will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 12:30. Rickie Jenkins with Campbell Road Church of Christ is officiating the service.
