He was a longtime resident of Garland, TX for 40 years and was self employed as a commercial real estate agent for 20 years. In his younger years, he really enjoyed dancing, music and movies. He loved spending time with family, especially the love of his life, his soul mate Phyllis, whom he was married to for 50 years. Charles will be remembered by his daughters, Subrina Mickle and husband Robert of Decatur, IL; Misty Cook and husband Chris of Allen, TX. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis; son, Terry Lee; parents, C.L. and Cynthia Stateler and half sister, Shannon Stateler Boothe. We would like to thank all of the staff at Garnet Hill Nursing Facility for all the love and care they have shown over the years to both mom and dad. Also, we would like to thank the continuous care nurses of Faith Hospice, especially Anna, for the wonderful 24/7 care they provided to dad in his final days. Dad will always be remembered by his warm and sweet ways. He was always joking with everyone; his smile and laugh were infections, even with someone he had just met, which everyone found endearing. Everyone was a “SWEETHEART” to him.
