Charles Archie Stewart's Obituary
STEWART, CHARLES ARCHIE born April 21, 1922 in Amarillo, Texas and passed away on August 11, 2010 at the age of 88. He was the oldest child of Archie A. and Maggie Caroline Stewart, early settlers of Moore County, Texas. He served four years during WWII as a meteorologist in the United States Air Force. Archie attended West Texas State University and graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He moved his family to Dallas, Texas in 1950 and was employed by Texas Instruments for 37 years, retiring in 1987. Archie is survived by his wife of 68 years, Martha; his daughter, Carolyn Nell Carr, of Lake Oswego, Oregon; grandsons, Christopher Stewart Carr and Matthew Kendall Carr; extended family, Frank and Donna McDowell and many other relations and friends. Archie had two great grandchildren, Miriam Elise Carr and Caleb Jonathon Carr. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean McDowell; brother, Ike Harrison “Jumbo” Stewart; and sisters, Ruby Jean Marable and DeLena Mae Young. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 13, 2010 at Restland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Walnut Hill United Methodist Church.
