Charles Clifford Towles' Obituary
Charles Clifford Towles, age 82, of Lone Oak, Texas, passed away on October 31, 2025 in Farmersville, Texas. He was born on May 6, 1943 in Commerce, Texas.
Charles lived a life anchored in deep love, loyalty, honor, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. He was very strong and vigilant in his faith – trusting in God, leaning on scripture, and walking his daily life with Christian conviction and hope.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam from 1964 to 1968, where he served with discipline and courage. He was honorably discharged in 1968. Being a Vietnam Veteran was one of the great points of pride in his life — he loved his country deeply and carried his service with profound importance and dignity for the rest of his days.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His steady presence, gentle humor, and unwavering heart left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving daughter Amy Jo Shaulis and son-in-law Keith Alan Shaulis; his grandson Eric Alan Shaulis and Eric’s wife Sarah Helen Shaulis; his sister Esther Towles; and nieces Heather and Holly Motteram.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved soulmate and wife Betty (Lorraine) Towles; his precious grandson Caden Layne Shaulis; his parents Ditz Clifford Towles and Kathleen Brennan Towles; and his brothers John and Stanley Towles.
Charles will be remembered for his quiet strength, his devotion to family, and his ability to make every person in his presence feel valued and at ease. His legacy continues in the lives of those he loved so fiercely and so well.
He will be deeply missed.
The visitation will take place at Restland Funeral Home’s Wildwood Chapel on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm and interment at Restland Cemetery.
