Charles Ray Turner's Obituary
Born May 9, 1934 to Ray Otto and Ola Mae Turner who both preceded him in death. Charles entered into eternal rest on December 29, 2010. He was a loving father, grandfather,and brother. Mr. Turner was raised and educated in White Rock, TX. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age and united with Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing with the family gospel group – The Turner Brother’s Quartet. He later united with St. Luke Baptist Church under Pastor Paul C. Wright. At the time of his passing, he was a faithful member of The Wright’s Bible Ministries under Pastor Michael L. Wright. Mr. Turner, after his education, joined the U. S. Army and served our country until receiving an honorable discharge. Mr. Turner returned from the Army and began working for Southern Methodist University where he continued to work for 40 years until his retirement in Jan. 2000. Mr. Turner was married to Ruth Armanda Turner who preceded him in death. Mr. Turner leaves to morn him, Ms. Armenda Lois Wright, Mr. Donald Ray Wright (Peggy), Mrs. Bettina Turner – Love (Dalwin) and Iris Jeanette Wright; his sisters, Jestine Garrett, Tina Suber (William); brother, Freeman Earle Leonard, fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
