Charles Edward Vann's Obituary
Charles (Charlie) Edward Vann passed away peacefully on January 22nd after a short illness.
Charlie was born in Hope, Arkansas on November 2, 1930. He was one of five siblings. Charlie had two brothers, Joe Vann and Curtis Vann, and he had three sisters, Joyce Vann McMillan and Linda Sue Doty and Ada Jane Smith. Charlie attended Redwater High School in Redwater, Texas and that is where he met his wife to be, Paula Jean Creed. They were married in 1948. Charlie joined the Marines shortly after he and Paula got married. He spent 4 years in the Marines before he and Paula moved to Dallas, Texas. He was in the automobile business for his entire working career. After their first son was born in 1953, they moved to Garland, Texas where their second son was born in 1956.
Charlie was predeceased by his mother Edna Vann, his father Joe Acklin Vann, his wife Paula Jean Vann, his son Bobby Clarles Vann, his brother Joe Vann, and his brother Curtis Vann.
Charlie is survived by his son Ronald Vann, his sisters Joyce Vann McMillan and Linda Sue Doty and Ada Jane Smith and her husband Carroll Smith, his sister-in-law Donna Vann, his grandson Jason Vann and his wife Mitzi, his granddaughter Amy Adams and her husband Chris Adams, his granddaughter Rebecca Hanson and her husband Logan Hanson, and his great grandchildren, Jackson Adams, Braeden Vann, Karah Hansen and Eric Hansen. He is also survived by his long-time sweetheart, Jan Cripps.
Charlie was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a loving and generous man. Charlie never met a stranger.
