WHITENER JR., CHARLES CLEVELAND born October 24, 1923 in West, Texas passed away June 26, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Charles graduated Baylor Law School in 1949 and practiced law in Dallas, Texas until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of First Baptist Church Dallas since 1965 and the Mission Minded Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary P. Miller of Mexia; sons, Cleve Whitener and wife, Becky, Sid Whitener and wife, Sherri, and Nathan Whitener; daughters, Cherry Rohe and husband, Jamie, Nancy DePue and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Kristin and Nathan Gustafson, Lauren Whitener, Meagan Lewis, Courtney and Robert Nistler, Ethan DePue, and Austin DePue; great-grandchildren, Zachery, Bailee, Nora, Breckin, Eliza, and Colby; sister, Evelyn Woodruff of Katy, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:15 AM at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway with a memorial service at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Dallas, 1707 San Jacinto with a reception to follow.
