Charles Edward Whitlock's Obituary
Charles Edward Whitlock (Bubba) was born August 5, 1950 in Wisner, LA. On Friday, September 23, 2022 at the age of 72 he passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side.
He served his country for twenty years in the US Air Force in Transportation Management. An avid car enthusiast, Charles went on to drive for the Fort Worth “T” city bus. He retired in 2019 as tractor trailer operator for the US Postal Service.
At an early age, Charles was baptized at the New Macedonia Baptist Church in Gilbert by the late Rev L.M. Major. Charles loved the Lord and honored him in his devotion to his family. He loved his family fiercely and treasured each child, grandchild and great-grandchild with all his heart.
Charles leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Rena Whitlock (32 years), his children: Ricky Williams, LaTonda McQueen, Tarrance Whitlock, LaShaunda Ford, Tyesha Whitlock, Jessica (Bennie) Lee, Charles (Tina) Doyle, Nicole (Mitch) Fontenot and Tamar Whitlock . His grandchildren: Tyerra (Ashton) Whitlock, Coniah Whitlock, Sasha Richardson-Whitlock and Alaina Fontenot and a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charles is also survived by two brothers - Lem James (Cora) Whitlock of Ennis, TX and Nehemiah Whitlock of Lake Charles, LA; Four sisters - Mary Lee Walker of Gilbert, LA, Lillian Williams of Monroe, LA, Dorene Randle of Dallas, TX and Patricia (George) Dickson of Winnsboro LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents the late Rev. Eugene Sr. and Lillian Whitley Whitlock, two sisters - Elizabeth Whitlock and Elizzie Mae Whitlock Coleman; three brothers - Eugene Jr., Bobby and Carl Whitlock.
Services for Mr. Charles Whitlock will be held at 2p on Friday, October 7, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. A visitation will be held prior in Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 6:30p-8p.
