Charles Zeller's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Charles Zeller,80, who died on November 9, 2022.
Charlie was born in Dallas, TX on January 17, 1942. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas and received his Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University in 1968. He enjoyed a successful life-long career in Human Resources and shared generously how to solve problems! His career included his work with the City of Dallas and the Fort Worth Independent School district.
Family, his dog Bella, sports, music, gardening, news updates, Texas Tech, and all things Czech were some of Charlie’s favorite things. Making people laugh, updates on his grandchildren, a good debate, reading and researching, donations to numerous charities and offering his beneficial suggestions (“BS”) highlighted his days.
Charlie’s voice choked up as he showed people photographs of his family and shared accomplishments of his grandchildren which showed just how proud he was of his family. His capacity to love was enormous and the size of his heart was clearly the size of the state he was born, bred, and loved, Texas.
He was a man of his word and was loyal to those blessed to have known him. He loved to read, and he continued to do so with many journals in his retirement. He took up the ukulele while at Texas Tech and continued playing throughout his life.
Charlie is predeceased by his parents Lela Mae and James Charles Zeller, his beloved wife Wilda Faye (Barnard) Zeller, brother James Joseph Jones, sister Marie Artman, and his best friend Mary Ann Brochetti.
Left to grieve his sudden passing are his sister Anna Mae Rey, sister-in-law Joyce Jones, nephew Jay Jones; stepchildren Susan Kolodziej (Bob), Linda Kirby (John), Joanne Boyce, Richard J. Brochetti (Brenda); grandchildren Stephanie Grace Kolodziej, Ashley Elizabeth Boyce, Matthew Patrick Boyce, Richard Brochetti III, Victoria Brochetti, Katherine Brochetti Perez, as well as many friends.
The family would like to extend our most heartfelt gratitude to the caring individuals at Oxford Grand Assisted Living, McKinney, TX and the many nurses, doctors and staff at Baylor, Scott & White Plano who helped make Charlie’s passing peaceful.
Charlie will be laid to rest following a visitation at 1:00pm, and funeral service at 2:00pm on November 25, 2022, at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
