Charline Tomlin's Obituary
FRANCES CHARLINE TOMLIN of Dallas, Texas entered victoriously into Heaven into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was born November 14, 1923 in Ranger, Texas and grew up in Omaha, Texas. She was married to her sweetheart J.W. “Tommy” Tomlin for over 63 years, who preceded her in death in 2005.Charline enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren but most of all she loved serving her Lord at Royal Haven Baptist Church where she was a long-time member. She sang in the choir, taught preschool and worked in the kitchen. Charline began her work career as a hairdresser and then worked for Sears in the catalogue department before she decided to stay at home and raise her 2 children to adulthood. She returned to work for J.C. Penney for 13 years from where she retired. In those 13 years she never missed a day of work and was never late to work.Beloved wife, Mother, MamMom and loyal friend – She is survived by daughter: Sue Colton; son, Scott (Carla) Tomlin; grandchildren: Amy (David) Feller, Aaron (Kristi) Colton, Jeff (Jennifer) Colton, Kevin (Camille) Colton; Brooke, Hunter and Megan Tomlin; great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Emily and Sam Feller; Sarah, Matthew and Hailey Colton; Ethan, Ryan and Leah Colton; Elizabeth and Rebekah Colton; and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents C.C. and Bertie Wellborn; sister: Hazle Bergman and 3 brothers: Arvin, J.C. and Ralph Wellborn; son-in-law: Ron Colton.Visitation Friday, January 26, 2018, from 6-8 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Visitation Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 10-11am with funeral service at 11am in the Memorial Chapel (main) at Restland, with burial to follow.
