Charlotte Maxine Ardoin's Obituary
ARDOIN, CHARLOTTE MAXINE born March 22, 1928 in Dallas and died peacefully in her sleep on March 29, 2014. She was the only child of Charles Ranes and Birdie Wright. She was a graduate of North Dallas High and resided all her life in Dallas. Maxine was blessed with two wonderful marriages. She married her childhood sweetheart Billy Joe Hunter on Sept. 26, 1946 and they had two daughters. Bill died in Dec. 1970 at the age of 42 and Maxine was left to raise their young daughters. Maxine was lucky enough to find another great husband in a longtime friend, Otrede Ardoin, and they were married on April 6, 1973. They were married for almost 40 years until his death in Feb. 2013. Maxine worked as an executive secretary to the District Director at the IRS in Dallas. She retired in 1986 after 36 years of service. After her retirement Maxine enjoyed reading and gardening. She was an active letter writer, writing to friends, family, newspaper editors and TV reporters. She was devoted to her grandchildren and played an active in their lives. She is survived by her daughters, Becky Varnell and Laurie Hunter and their husbands, 5 grandchildren, Rachel Varnell-Caldwell, Jason Varnell, Jeb, Jessica and Jeremy Ardoin and by 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Monday, March 31, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
