Charlotte L. Nelson's Obituary
Charlotte Lundy Nelson, our beloved mother and wife passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Charlotte was born on February 29, 1936 in St. Louis, MO to parents Walter Dean Lundy and Katharine Kile Lundy. She grew up in Lincoln, NE until after WWII when her father served as military officer in the Army. She attended high school in Stuggart and Heidelberg, Germany. She attended the University of Arizona until she married Thomas Nelson at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona on July 12, 1959. Charlotte was a military wife and raised four children while her husband served in the U.S. Army for over 30 years. Charlotte enjoyed playing bridge and reading was her passion. Our fondest memories are sitting at her dinner table enjoying a wonderful meal and lots of laughter. Charlotte worked for 10 years for the City of Dallas Library. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Charlotte was loved dearly by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Charlotte is preceded in death by her oldest Daughter Katharine Nelson Cooper and both her parents. She is survived by her husband Thomas Clarke Nelson, 3 children Thomas Nelson of Boston MA, Eric Nelson of Frisco TX, her daughter Nancy Davis of Flower Mound TX, her sister, Ann Albers of Omaha, NE, her 5 grandchildren Laura, Rachel, and Megan Nelson of Boston, MA and Sean and Alex Davis of Flower Mound, TX. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association , PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 and The American Cancer Society, PO Box 560089, Dallas, TX 75356 . A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Restland Wildwood Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
