Charlotte E. Stone's Obituary
Charlotte ‘Criss’ Stone was born in Newburgh, New York in 1930 to parents John and Mildred Crosby and departed this life May 10, 2024 at age 93, joining her husband George.
She grew up in Milford, Pennsylvania, married George E. Stone Jr. in 1948 and they remained married over 65 years until his death in 2014. They came to Texas in 1953 and raised their children. They built a home in Lake Highlands and were charter and sustaining members of that neighborhood.
Criss went back to work in the 1970s and enjoyed a lengthy career at the SMU Law School, spending much of her effort on the Continuing Legal Education program. She was very active in the Lake Highlands North Homeowners Association (LHNHOA) serving her neighbors for many years in a variety of ways. She loved bluebonnets; working hard and having a good time.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George, her parents John Crosby and Mildred Crosby Higgins, her four sisters, Francis Hotalen, Ruth Stone, Annabelle Prohira, Grace Carey, and her grandson Randall Paul Stone. She is survived by her three children, Gail Stone (Terry), Gregg Stone and Glenn Stone (Cindy); her grandkids, Lisa-Kay Pierotti (Chris), Eric Stone (Laura), Jacki Waller (Andrew), Rachel, Sam and Ben Stone and her great-grandchildren Emma and Eva Stone.
Criss had a great faith in God. She was a faithful wife, a loving Mom and a very fun Ma Ma and a great neighbor. Visitation will be 4-7pm on Thursday, May 16 at Restland Funeral Home (13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243). Celebration Service: Friday, May 17 at 10am (Wildwood Chapel at Restland).
