Cheryl Ann Aikman's Obituary
Cheryl Ann Aikman, 66 of Rowlett, went home on Friday, January 23, 2026. She passed peacefully with family at her side, at BS&W Lakepoint from a lengthy illness. Cheryl was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 4, 1959. The entire country celebrated her birthday every year. Cheryl was born to Rex and Patsy Jones.
Cheryl attended University of Central Arkansas and Texas Tech University and received her bachelor's in psychology from TTU in 1996. She spent the greatest portion of her working life as Residential Counselor/Life Skills Instructor for mentally challenged adolescents and adults at various Group Homes and facilities. She always cared for those less fortunate regardless of the circumstances.
Cheryl's hobbies included gardening, canning, and cooking. As the best cook in the family, she loved her home being the gathering spot at holidays and feeding the neighborhood kids. She also truly loved reading, and would read anything, anytime-just to gain the knowledge.
Cheryl was kind, sensible, honest, and intelligent. She would not abide hatred or racism in any form and believed Love conquered all. She met Albert Craig Aikman in 1984, and they were married on February 14, 1986. They remained married, friends, and soulmates to her passing. She had 3 children: identical twins Aaron Casey Jones and Patrick Ryan Jones, and a third son Elijah Ian Aikman. Cheryl had 3 grandchildren: Gryphon, Indira, and Maram Aikman. Cheryl's mother, Patsy, sister Dee, and Brother in law Matthew are still living.
She was preceded in death by a son Patrick Ryan Jones; a brother Rick Jones; father Rex Jones; paternal grandparents Earsel and Pearl Jones and maternal grandparents Dovie and Mitchell Evitt; and numerous Aunts and Uncles in Houston and Morrilton Arkansas.
Cheryl's wishes were for organ/whole body donation as she so wanted to help in any way she could in medical research and possible cures for any ailment. She was not accepted into this program, so she will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas in a family plot. Her husband will lay next to her at his passing as in life. She will have a private graveside service and will have a gathering of friends and family, with time and location to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Saint Judes Children's Hospital. Cheryl felt very strongly that a child should never be turned away from any medical treatment for any reason. Cheryl was a unique lady and will be greatly missed.
