Chester Crawford's Obituary
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4
Chester Lee Crawford, Jr. was born to the parents of Chester Lee Crawford, Sr. and Norvie Crawford in Shreveport, La. on August 29,1967. Jr., as he was affectionally called, was the youngest of 11 children. He was known for his quick wit and sense of fashion. He accepted Christ at a young age and continued to serve his Lord and Savior until he was called home.
After graduating from Arcadia High School in Arcadia, La., Jr. furthered his education at Texas College in Tyler, Texas where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in kinesiology. He was also an active member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
On September 5, 2020, Jr. peacefully left this world, leaving to mourn his passing his beloved wife of fourteen years Marshlynne Crawford, his daughter Ziondria Crawford, and his four sisters and four brothers: Beverly Johnson, Doretha Lewis, Terry Crawford, Jerry Crawford, Tony Crawford, Myra Obasi, Kenneth Crawford and Sherry Crawford. He also leaves to mourn his nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. However, Jr. will be in excellent company for he has gone on to join his father, his mother, his oldest sister Shelia and his brother Dennis who all have passed on before.
Jr. was a blessing to many, for no one was a stranger to him, just a friend he had not spoken to yet. He was truly a jewel of a person whose love and compassion touched everyone that he knew and met. He will be missed.
