Chi Lan Hsu's Obituary
Chi Lan Hsu passed away at home on November 14, 2023, at the age of 89, in Plano, Texas.
Born on January 1, 1934, in Taiwan, Chi Lan Hsu was the son of Chuan Fu and Hong Mei Hsu. He is survived by his wife, Su Dieh Wang Hsu; his son, Chunglung Hsu, and his wife, Clare Hsu, along with their two children, Benjamin and Jamina. Chi Lan is also survived by his daughter, Vivian Tu, and her husband, Arthur Tu, and their son, Michael, as well as his daughter, Chun Hui Hsu.
Chi Lan graduated from National Taiwan University in 1956 with a degree in B.S. Chemical Engineering. He then pursued a career in the textile industry where he eventually became the director of China Man-Made Fiber Corporation and Hualon Corporation. He later changed his focus to Powder Metallurgy and founded his own company, Lenco Enterprise, and became the pioneer of this field in Taiwan.
Chi Lan was a very hardworking individual. He was always intellectually curious and had a strong willingness to learn. Chi Lan loved to read and study especially, always looking for the simple lessons in life. He truly cherished the beauty of learning, and this was expressed in all his actions and outlook on life.
Always open to sharing his joy of having learned something new with others, Chi Lan will be dearly missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
