Chris Nicolaos Fox's Obituary
Chris Nicolaos Fox, 58, of Gunter, Texas went to be with Jesus on Thursday, April 18, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was born in Dallas, Texas on August 11, 1965 to Nick and Marty Fox, as the first of their three children. He spent his early childhood in Gretna, Louisiana until his family moved to Germantown, TN when he was twelve. He graduated from Germantown High School in 1983.
In one of the most pivotal decisions of his life, Chris decided to attend the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. At Ole Miss, he made so many happy memories and met so many lifelong friends that shaped his life. He was a proud member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity where he held several leadership positions and still talked about the memories made with his fraternity brothers. He loyally supported all Ole Miss sports through the ups and downs over the years. He graduated from Ole Miss in 1987 with a BBA in Finance. He then decided to get an additional degree and graduated with a BBA in Accounting from Memphis State University in 1989.
Upon graduation, he went to work for Supply Technologies where he would work for over 30 years. In 1997, he happened to join a co-ed softball team where he met the love of his life – playing side by side in left and center field. He and Christi married on April 24, 1999, in Memphis, Tennessee surrounded by family and friends. There they made their home and welcomed their children, Harrison and Hayden. In 2006, they made the move to Texas and have been Texas residents ever since. They loved traveling as a family, attending and watching sporting events, watching movies, and just spending time together. Chris was an avid golfer who passed his love of golf down to Harrison – they were each other’s favorite golfing partner. He and Hayden spent countless hours at the softball field with him loading balls into the pitching machine for her – he will always be her favorite throwing partner. He also loved to fish and passed that love down to both Harrison and Hayden. Chris loved watching all sports – he loved his Ole Miss Rebels and the Dallas Cowboys but his favorite sports to watch were any that Harrison or Hayden were playing.
Chris was known as one of the most humble, kind, hard-working, sincere, genuine and calm person that you would have known. His ability to stay positive and find the good in all situations is something that everyone remembers. He coached little league sports for many years where he thought he was teaching the kids how to play a sport, but in the end, he taught them how to be a good person. He would have done anything for anybody without expecting reciprocation. He had a very strong faith that never wavered during his illness. He will deeply missed by all that knew him.
Chris is survived by his loving wife of twenty-five years, Christi, their son, Harrison, and their daughter, Hayden, all of Gunter, Texas; his parents, Nick and Marty Fox of Oxford, Mississippi; his brother Tommy Fox (Meredith) of Oxford, Mississippi; his sister Nicole McNulty (Bobby) of Collierville, Tennessee; his nephew and godson, Corbin Fox, and nieces, Hannah and Lydia Fox.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Dallas, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.
