Chris Monk was born on November 2, 1924, in Coppell, Texas and passed away March 16, 2017, in Mesquite, Texas. Preceded in death by his parents Sam Monk and Susie Cooper Monk, 9 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 grandsons, and his beloved wife of 71 years, Anna Lois George Monk. Survived by daughter Peggy Ann Monk Penn (husband Richard Dale Penn), son Norman Wayne Monk (wife Linda Sue Biggs Monk), daughter Anita Jo Monk Poteat (husband Mark Quentin Poteat), granddaughters Norma Partridge, Wendee Long, Amber Parker, Holly Dowell, Kristi Barrows, Penny Hatfield, Joanna Hays, Aimee Hilton, Paige Hottel, Alexandria Musick, grandson James Chris Monk, 34 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 17th, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
