Chris Harold Schaezler's Obituary
SCHAEZLER, CHRIS HAROLD of Dallas, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the age of 68. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 15, 1942 to Christian Bernhard and Adele Louise Schaezler. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Anita Louise of Dallas, Texas; sons, Brian Todd (wife Lynn Boettcher) of St Louis, Missouri and Scott Michael (wife Sahnya Brie Foster) of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren: Keith Preston and Ellen Frances of St Louis, Missouri; Brother Thomas Alan of San Antonio, Texas. Chris was preceded in death by his parents Christian and Adele. Chris spent his childhood in San Antonio and upon graduating from high school went to Texas A&M as a member of the Corps of Cadets (B1 company) where he earned his diploma in 1964. He then joined the Army, serving three years as a Lieutenant and was also a veteran of the Vietnam War where his service was recognized with the Bronze Star. After completing his military commitment, he embarked on a 20 year management career in multiple industries. During this time he also completed his MBA at the University of Dallas. Later in his career he owned and operated a Travel Agency. He enjoyed playing and watching sports throughout his life especially football, baseball and tennis. He also had a love of history. He cherished his time with family and friends enjoying holidays, football games, and vacations together. Most of all, he took great pride in providing for his family as a husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 10am, Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Amyloidosis Foundation.
