Christa Hiemer Carroll's Obituary
Christa Hiemer Carroll was born on February 7, 1943, in Zweibrucken, West Germany. She Peacefully passed away on August 1, 2024, in Coppell, Texas.
Christa was the youngest of four children, born to Erhart Hiemer and Martha Martin. She was an avid handball player in her youth. As a young adult, she worked as a phone switchboard operator on Zweibrucken airbase, and met her husband, Richard D. Carroll, during a visit to the Enlisted Club.
They had three children and moved to Garland, Texas, in 1974 where they raised their family. Over the years, Christa was a North Garland Little League scorekeeper, a 7-11 manager, a dry cleaner, a waitress at Kuby's German Restaurant and Sales associate at Macy's. Christa and her husband later divorced. In retirement, Christa enjoyed watching sports, baking, and babysitting her granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Carroll; her daughter, Karen Christine Carroll Marx;
her parents, Erhart Hiemer and Martha Martin; her brother Hansi, and her sisters, Elenor ( Laura ) and Annie.
Christa is survived by her son, Richard J. Carroll; her daughter -in-law Aimee Carroll; and her granddaughters, Nicole Carroll and Renee Carroll.
