Christal L. Trammell's Obituary
Christal was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on July 23, 2017. Christal was born on December 7, 1924, in Quinlan, TX. She graduated from Quinlan High School. On December 14, 1946, she married Calvin Mellen Trammell. They were married for sixty-two years. Christal spent 15 years as an attendance clerk with the D.I.S.D. Christal loved gardening, sewing, making craft items, and playing dominos. Most of all she loved her Lord and His church. She was a member of Hampton Place Baptist Church and later Cockrell Hill Road Baptist Church. She was a faithful tither. She showed her love for Jesus by making baked goods for, buying groceries for, and just spending time with elderly shut-ins. She will be greatly missed, but she leaves behind a wonderful legacy of faith. Christal was proceeded in death by her parents, Byrd and Stella Norris; brothers J.D., Geraldine, Byrd Jr., Jack, and Earl Norris; sisters Helen Luna, EraMae Griffin, Joyce Jacks, and Velma Armstrong. Christal is survived by her sister, Almarie Jones of Dallas; her son, Dwayne Trammell and wife Deborah of Frisco; daughters Peggy Philen of Arlington and Gaylia Polk and husband Gary of Amarillo. In addition, she is survived by nine grandchildren: Robyn Shepheard and husband Steve; Gregory Trammell and wife Ashley, Zachary Trammell and wife Yesenia, Casey Trammell, Whitney Trammell, and Colby Trammell; Matthew Polk and wife Kristen, Andrew Polk and wife Erin, and Sally Bohmfalk and husband Sam; and by eleven great-grandchildren: Lauren, Hillary, and Megan Shepheard; Landon and Davis Trammell; Isabella Trammell; Nathanael, Abigail, Anna, and Theo Polk; and Adeline Polk. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 29, 2017, in Wildwood Chapel, at Restland Funeral Home, Dallas. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Restland Funeral home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
