Christine Remley Miller's Obituary
MILLER, BELLE CHRISTINE REMLEY was born on December 7, 1923 and passed away on June 12, 2013 at the age of 89, after a brief illness, at Good Samaritan Lake Forest Village in Denton, Texas. She was born in Sadler, Texas to the late Mamie Belle Cagle Remley and William Artman Remley. The family resided in and around Basin Springs, Texas and Whitesboro, Texas during her youth and Christine graduated from Whitesboro High School. In 1943, Christine married Richard Dow (R.D.) Miller of Gainesville, Texas. The couple settled in Dallas, Texas and raised their children there. They were members of Northlake Baptist Church in Lake Highlands and had been married for 66 years when R.D. passed away in 2009. Throughout the 1970’s, Christine earned her real estate license and worked as a real estate agent. She also returned to college during that time and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1981, at age 57. Christine was an avid music enthusiast and taught herself to play piano at a very young age. She served in various churches over the years as a pianist and organist, and continued to enjoy playing both instruments in her later years. Christine is preceded in death by her husband (R.D. Miller), mother and father (Belle and W.A. Remley), a brother (William H. “Bud” Remley), and three sisters (Mary Wilson, Marie Boshers, Jewel Sissney). She is survived by son Rick Miller and his wife Sherry Miller of Highland Village, daughter Debby Miller Stegman and her husband Gerald Stegman of Denton, sister Ruth Hutcherson of Farmers Branch, six grandchildren: Sam Miller, Molly Miller, Savannah Miller, Ben Miller, Becca Stegman, Zachary Stegman, and three step-grandchildren: Kevin Stegman, Amanda Stegman Hughes, and Sarah Stegman. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
