Chris was my 2nd mom from 12- my early twenties. I remember many dinners and card games because I lived at the Petty house most weekends/Sundays. Chris always made me feel like part of the family. I would stop by when visiting Garland, after the kids all left home because they were some of my favorite people growing up. Chris told me about her early schooling and how her Catholic school was near a hospital. She said that she learned to say a prayer in her heart, for the person in trouble, each time she heard an ambulance. I do this and I always think of Chris. I know she will be missed and I’m so grateful to have known and been influenced by her for so many years. Love and prayers of comfort to family and friends.
