Christine Pike's Obituary
PIKE, CHRISTINE 91, passed away January 20,2011 after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and rejoined the Lord. Mrs. Pike was born May 23, 1919 in Hatfield Minnesota. She was the eldest and only daughter of eight children of Helen and Cornelius Wabeke of Dutch heritage. Mrs. Pike was a graduate of Mankato State Teachers College in Minnesota and taught elementary school for several years. In 1946 Mrs. Pike married Albert Pike and moved to Rocky, Oklahoma. Together they had four sons, three of whom survive. Mrs. Pike was very active in various churches in Oklahoma City, including Temple Baptist, Sooner Baptist and taught Sunday School for over forty years at Southwood Baptist. Mrs. Pike is survived by her sons, Wally, Cornel and his wife Abbe, and Martin. She is further survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to express its appreciation to the Avalon Canongate facility and particularly to Ms. Emma Flores for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. The memorial service will be held Monday, January 24 at 3pm at Fellowship Bible Church of Dallas, 9330 N.
