Christopher Michael Songer's Obituary
Christopher Michael Songer, age 55, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 27, 1969, in Booneville, Arkansas. Christopher passed at Presbyterian Faith Hospice, T. Boone Pickens facility.
Chris is survived by his devoted wife, Traci Songer; his children: Michael Songer, Brittany Trammell, and Hannah Songer; his cherished grandchildren: Amelia and Caden Trammell; his parents: Mother, Dolores McMakin, Father, Edwin Songer and Stepmother, Vickie Songer; his siblings, Alan Songer, Scott Songer and wife, Renee, and his sister, Felecia Carreras and husband Pete; and the Mother of his children, Jennifer Gilmore. Chris leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Chris built a successful career as a Director of Project Development in construction, where he made a lasting impact on his community through the schools, libraries, and buildings he helped bring to life. Amongst his proudest professional accomplishments was overseeing the construction of hospices for Presbyterian, a true reflection of his heart for others.
A lifelong sport enthusiast, Chris cheered passionately for the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, and Notre Dame. He enjoyed cooking, tending to his yard, traveling, dancing, singing karaoke, telling stories, and above all, spending time with his family. He was also deeply devoted to his pets, who brought him great joy.
Chris was a man of strong Christian faith, who led by example and touched the lives of all who knew him with kindness, humor and love.

Chris will be remembered as a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His legacy of love, faith, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
